It is sad to say that in our modern school systems that there is a need for metal detectors, police officers and certain security requirements. With the history of school violence in America and past shootings, the last thing anyone wants to hear are the words “man down” when it comes to emergency situations. While there any many different ways to prevent these things from happening, it is always in the best interest of the children and staff members of schools to have some sort of technology available for a worst-case scenario. Not only is it wise to invest in a personal safety alarm in any school, but having something that can also make faculty aware of other issues and receive emergency messages for things such as severe weather warnings and local school lockdowns are extremely beneficial.

For over the past fifty or so years, there have been around 100 shooting incidences in schools in our country. Some reported incidences have had no deaths, while the most people killed during a shooting was 33 victims. It is difficult to say why and when these incidences will occur; no lone worker at a school wants to see something of this magnitude take place. There are ways to get advance notice for something happening, such as profiling students and determining behavior patterns, finding out whether they have access to weapons or asking if their friends know anything. While profiling and counseling can help reduce the threat of a shooting happening, there is still always a chance that someone can randomly react; having a panic button alarm could be the difference between life and death, in regards to getting quick response time to emergencies. Technology has helped the modern world deal with troubling situations by providing the timely responses and information we need.

Courtrooms are boxes of emotions. Those four walls are brimming with tension. People are angry. People are sad. People are hurt. Courtrooms are different than any other room you’ve ever been in. Family members of a murder victim are asked to sit idly in the same room as the person who committed the heinous act. People are sentenced to spend their lives behind bars. People are sentenced to death. There are more emotions floating around a courtroom than any other room on this planet. And, with such strong emotions, outbursts are bound to happen. Of course, at this point, outbursts are almost expected. But, in the interest of justice, the courts need to curb courtroom outbursts. The TTI Guardian is one way of doing just that.

TTI Guardian is a completely wireless duress system that lets court staff quickly, discreetly and wirelessly alert bailiffs, officers or others that there is trouble in the courtroom. A simple button press on the wireless call fob or two way pager sends a message over the Guardian wireless repeater network to an individual or group providing not only the identity of who triggered the alarm, but also their location.

Unfortunately, there are too many stories of courtroom outbursts that turn violent. Strong emotions can cloud even a sane individual’s judgment. Court officials need to be prepared for the worst. A wireless duress system can ensure the security of everyone in the courtroom. Even amidst such deep-seeded emotions, just still needs to prevail. And courtrooms need to take the necessary precautions to make sure that happens.

Technology has made the world a safer and more dangerous place. Of course, this seems like an odd thing to say, but it’s true. The internet has made people and their assets more vulnerable. But other technologies have improved peoples’ security. Well, we’re proud to produce a technology that helps people. And, we want you to know the TTI Guardian has a wide range of uses. The TTI Guardian is not just limited to schools, courtrooms, and medical facilities. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box! Here are a few suggested industries where our technology can be used to enhance safety and efficiency.

Night Clubs

Most night clubs are dark, crowded, alcohol-infused frenzies. And, amidst the jam-packed dance floor and bars, bouncers are expected to navigate and maintain order. If you’ve ever been in a night club, you know it’s difficult to simply talk to the person next to you. Now, imagine trying to get the attention of someone across the club because you need assistance. The TTI Guardian’s personal duress system, locating feature, and group messaging can make a security detail’s job considerably easier.

Shopping Malls

Shopping malls are similar to night clubs. Well, there aren’t as many strobe lights and alcoholic beverages. But they’re big venues that are patrolled by a limited number of workers. The TTI Guardian can alert security or store staff about disturbances, shoplifters, evacuations, and more.

Stadiums & Resorts

The TTI Guardian doesn’t have to only be associated with wrong-doings and unfortunate accidents. Sometimes it can simply be used to enhance a fun time. When at an event or kicking back at a resort, food and beverage requests can be made from the call fob to the wait staff providing location and name of guest requesting service. In this situation, you can still use the technology to boost security, but you can also enhance the efficiency of your business.

Wireless duress alarm systems or panic buttons, are used to protect employees of a workplace, and its staff from hazardous working environments. Whether you work at a city nightclub, a courthouse, or even a sport stadium crime and accidents can happen anywhere at any time. It is important to protect yourself and fellow employees.

Personal safety alarms are also used to protect individuals with medical conditions, or who are at high risk of injuring themselves, like the elderly. They are usually worn around the neck however; they can also be attached at the belt with a clip.

Once an alarm is activated, for larger companies, the signal goes to a computer where it is routed and then an announcement is made over facility hand held radios, pagers or telephones so that the proper security personnel are notified.

Smaller systems do not need to access to a computer however, the number is limited when it comes to the amount of alarm buttons that can be accommodated.

TTI Guardian offers three different types of duress alarm systems. With the most up to date technology TTI Guardian will provide you and your employees with the best protection around.

Employees are one of the most valuable resources for any business. It makes no difference whether the company is in the industrial, educational, financial, or medical field, to name a few. Employees are what drive the day to day, leading to the overall success of the company.

It is import to create a safe working environment for employees, providing them with the opportunity to be effective in their role. In order to create a safe working environment, the following factors should be considered…

• Plans, Programs, and Policies- proactively creating and making employees aware of evacuation routes, lone worker policies, duress alarm systems, fire prevention techniques, and First Aid locations

• Training and Education- preparing for emergency events with fire and safety drills, security procedural manuals, and training seminars or team meeting regarding the topic

• Tracking and Follow up- having a system in place to monitor, track, and follow up on an emergency situation or if employees are hurt on the job

• Insurance- being able to compensate any injured employees with money from insurance plans like workers compensation

For additional information and resources on Employee Safety, visit The United States Department of Labor Workplace Safety and Health Page.

Assisted living facilities are one of the many locations where safety and security are keys to success. Staff members are responsible for the care of patients at varying levels. Some cannot get out of bed by themselves, some wander and forget where they have gone, and some fault between knowing what is right and what is wrong creating risks to themselves and other residents.

Often the assisted living facilities are quite large, including multiple floors or even more than one building, creating an obstacle for notification of and communication during an emergency. For these reasons, it is vital for staff to have a safety plan in place in case a harmful situation arises.

Most assisted living homes have the standard pull cords and nurse panic buttons for patients and staff to use in case of an emergency. The problem with these options is that they are in set locations and they do not cover the times when the instance occurs outside of arms reach from the button or pull cord. Say a patient falls while walking outside. The nurse or staff member that is with them would have to run back inside, leaving the patient alone, to get help. This opens up an additional safety risk and wastes valuable time.

This situation, and many more like it, is where a wireless personal duress system can save the day. The TTI Guardian, for example, provides an additional layer of safety to the residents and an advanced security plan for staff members. The Guardian stays with residents wherever they are on the facilities grounds. In the event of a slip and fall, chest pain, medical emergency, medication request and more, a single button press can send an alert to an individual or group of staff indicating not only who sent the alert, but also where they are. Staff members can even send an acknowledgement back to the resident indicating their message was received and assistance is on the way.

These technology developments allowing wireless alarms to be developed have created a new sense of peace when it comes time for a parent or grandparent to live in an assisted facility. The advancements in safety and security help turn an emergency situation into a positive outcome.
Just imagine how much more secure family members will feel knowing that their loved ones are protected at all times!

Do you work in an industry or facility where workers may be left alone? How do you keep them protected from intruders and other, harmful entities? Lone worker systems provide workers the opportunity to call for help when needed. It is unwise to assume your workers will be safe; emergencies can arise within any setting and at any time.

Man down alarm systems are manufactured in different varieties. A duress alarm supplier can assemble a system throughout your facility, while other panic button security systems are to be utilized by single individuals. Lone worker alarms are stand-alone products – there is no need for a third-party presence to ring the alarm.

Some man-down alarm systems work as transmitters so lone workers can communicate with a central base while performing their duties. It is important for workers to feel safe in order to address their job duties efficiently. The duress system helps keep lone workers safe while facilitating the communication of all workers in your facility.

Many wireless panic alarms are engineered for work use, yet many individuals can benefit from a panic button security device also. For instance, residents present in assisted living settings can have peace of mind knowing that they can immediately alert staff of a health problem by using their personal safety alarm.

Working alone is inevitable for some people. Either their job is a solo gig, only requiring one resource, or the company has a limited staff causing individuals to complete their tasks independently. Whether being a lone worker is by choice or not, the issue of safety is always a concern.

When on the job, it is the employer’s role to make sure their crew is accounted for and safe at all times. When a situation arises, there should be a means for the lone worker to reach others for help. This could be in the form of a walkie-talkie, a cell phone, a two-way pager, or a duress system.

Developing a lone worker policy should be a priority for every business. Here is an article discussing the topic and how a proper duress system can save the lives of lone workers.
